Paulo Teixeira is a professor at ESALQ-USP. He holds a degree in Biological Sciences and a doctorate in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). He was a fellow of the Pew Fellows in the Biomedical Sciences program and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina (USA) under the supervision of Dr. Jeff Dangl. He also worked as a researcher at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) at the same university. His research focuses on the plant immune system and the strategies employed by microorganisms to manipulate it. He has expertise in the fields of Genetics and Molecular Biology, with research interests including plant-pathogen interactions, microbiome, genomics, and transcriptomics.
